Green Bay Packers: Jayden Reed Reveals Shocking Reaction When the Team Picked Him in the 2023…

Jayden Reed has become one of the most important Green Bay Packers players this season, a development he didn’t see coming since he didn’t expect to play for them in the first place.

The 24-year-old wide receiver admitted this during an episode of the St. Brown podcast. Jayden Reed said he was surprised that the Green Bay Packers picked him in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft since he rarely spoke to his current team during pre-draft.

“I never talked to the Packers during pre-draft. I probably had a meeting with them once on Zoom, like a week before the draft, and that was it. I was really surprised,” Reed shared. “That s**t caught me off guard. But it was a blessing because it’s three hours from home. And yeah, blessed to be here.”

Jayden Reed added he was a Chicago Bears supporter growing up because he is from Naperville, Illinois. However, he said everyone from his family is now a Green Bay Packers fan.

Jayden Reed also revealed on the podcast that he was almost drafted by the Detroit Lions (if it weren’t for the Green Bay Packers) since he “talked to them a lot” during pre-draft.

“I talked to them (Detroit Lions) the most out of everybody,” Reed stated. “I had a meeting with them at the combine, with all the scouts, coaches, GM, everybody. The meetings with Dan (Campbell) were good…But you don’t know until you know.”

Reed wouldn’t have it any other way since he has been successful so far in Green Bay. According to Pro Football Reference, the former Michigan State standout has recorded 108 receptions for 1,486 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns in his two-year NFL career.
