Preview, Squad List, Team News: Celtic vs. Real Madrid; Uwcl Group Stage

Preview

Real Madrid travelled to Glasgow where they will meet Celtic for matchday 5 of the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Las Blancas have qualified for the quarterfinals following the win against Twente in the fourth matchday last month. The white club sits in second place of group B with 9 points, only losing against Chelsea on the first matchday. This year’s UWCL debutants Celtic are yet to score a point in the Champions League.

“We know that we are qualified, but we want to fight for first place in the group. The context of the match is going to be complicated, playing late and in the cold. We have some players with discomfort, and we will see how today’s training session ends. But in general terms we are excited to play a good game, win and be able to dispute that first place here at home,” Alberto Toril speaks in the press conference ahead of the Celtic game.

The kickoff is on Wednesday, December 11th at 21:00 CET (3 pm ET) on New Douglas Park.
