World class star gives Liverpool fans update after opening offer made

Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has confirmed that there are no updates regarding discussions over a new contract, despite the fact his current deal is set to expire at the end of the season.

At the very beginning of last summer window, LIVERPOOL lost Jurgen Klopp and quickly replaced him with Dutchman Arne Slot, who has a big reputation in the game of football.

That also led to all sorts of speculation and rumours in the media that Slot would be backed by the board and will be able to sign a number of players to help him play the kind of football that he likes in the next couple of transfer windows,

However – the club have not yet been able to agree a new deal with one of their star players as The Dutch centre-back’s current deal expires next summer, and there has been alot of speculation that he could leave the club at the end of the season.

It has been revealed that Liverpool have offered Van Dijk a new deal, but Following Liverpool’s narrow 1-0 victory against Girona in the Champions League, Van Dijk was questioned by BBC 5 Live Sport about the status of his contract talks. The Dutchman responded simply, stating, “There is no word. No word. No news.”

Van Dijk looks like a player that does not want to leave the club and a player that LIVERPOOL do not want to see go, so we are sure that a new deal for the Dutchman will be wrapped up sooner rather than later.

But it will be interesting to see what kind of deal he signs, as Van Dijk is not in his prime anymore and will only get worse with age.

Still, he is one of the best in the world right now.
