‘Fantastic’ Chelsea player was actually the highest-rated outfield player in Europe over the weekend

Chelsea showed glimpses of their absolute best under Enzo Maresca as they came back from 2-0 down to win against Tottenham on Sunday.

While Nicolas Jackson was obviously gutted at his own performance, the attack were the real positives as far as the Blues were concerned, as they chipped in to help recover from Marc Cucurella’s nightmare start as a result of his choice of footwear.

Jadon Sancho made it back-to-back Premier League goals to kick the fightback off, while Enzo Fernandez kept up his rich vein of form in front of goal with a goal that sent the away fans at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium crazy.

Cole Palmer was at his very best in the second half in particular, and helped round the game off with two penalties.

Cole Palmer highest rated player in Europe at the weekend

Maresca was left in awe at his Panenka, and the England international moved onto 11 Premier League goals for the season to add to his six assists.

Jody Morris described Palmer as ‘fantastic’ after the game, with it being a similar story for the entire team he has been at Stamford Bridge.

The performance saw Palmer named in the statistical Premier League Team of the Week, however it seems his ratings are actually better off being compared with the rest of Europe right now.

According to WhoScored’s European Team of the Week, Palmer was the highest-rated outfield player of the weekend’s fixtures.
