As he has done in Chelsea’s other Conference League games this season, Enzo Maresca is likely to change his whole team for Thursday’s match against Astana.
However, though he did not start in Chelsea‘s 4-3 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, Noni Madueke will not be travelling to Kazakhstan to take on Astana.
Following Pedro Neto’s Premier League suspension after he picked up a fifth yellow card against Tottenham, Enzo Maresca confirmed that Madueke would be rested on Thursday.
It means that the winger is almost certain to start in the west London derby versus Brentford on Sunday. Another attacker who will not be playing against Astana is Deivid Washington.

Deivid Washington training with Chelsea first team
Ahead of Chelsea’s upcoming Conference League tie, Washington has been spotted with Maresca‘s main group.
However, having not been registered for the competition and not qualifying for the B list, the 19-year-old will not be able to feature against Astana.
Fwiw, Deivid Washington is not able to play tomorrow, as he’s not registered.
He doesn’t qualify for the B list and there’s no space on the A list.
Not sure why he’s in training and Ishé Samuels-Smith isn’t, but oh well.

Washington is yet to make a first-team appearance for Chelsea this season and looks set to leave the club on loan next month.
In November, it was reported that Chelsea are ready to let Washington leave temporarily. The Blues signed him from Santos for £17m in 2023.
Deivid Washington’s people do not think he is being treated fairly
Those close to Washington do not seem to be too pleased about his lack of action with the Chelsea first team this season.
It has emerged from Brazil that Washington’s people think he should be getting some minutes after his performances with the U21 side.
Maresca clearly disagrees, though, which is more than understandable. To be blunt, the Chelsea manager has so many better attacking options available to him right now.
There is no room to give the young Brazilian opportunities, especially with him not being eligible to play in the Conference League, where Chelsea’s other fringe players have been given chances this term.
