It's that time of the year as transfer talk ramps up and Brendan Rodgers and Celtic are no different.
The Scottish champions are expected to dip into the January market in search of a third striker. Jonny Kenny is set to get a chance after his impressive form at Shamrock Rovers while the likes of Luis Palma and Maik Nawrocki could head the other way in search of first team minutes after falling well down the pecking order. Greg Taylor's contract situation is one Rodgers is desperate to get resolved while Daniel Cummings is making the headlines and grabbing the attention of clubs.
However, THREE emerging headlines have come to the fore on Alexandro Bernabei, Alex Valle and Carney Chukwuemeka at Chelsea. Starting with Bernabei. He has found the form that made Ange Postecoglou splash out on his services and he's fresh of bagging a spot in the Brazilian Serie A team of the season.
Current club Internacional will reportedly make 'every possible effort' to sign the full-back - who has also spoken out on his future to ESPN in quotes carried by Global Esporte. He said: “ It doesn’t depend on me. Now I will enjoy the holidays and see what the future holds for me."
Elsewhere, Valle has Barcelona full of regret. El Nacional r eport that boss Hansi Flick has rues not putting his trust in the defender - who is on loan at Celtic for the season. The La Liga giants want competition for Alejandro Balde at left-back with Deco reported to try and negotiate with the Scottish champions. But it is not the only option on the table.
Another name that has been linked with Celtic is Carney Chukwuemeka of Chelsea. The Hoops are rumoured to be in the chase for the misfit attacker next month with reports in Italy stating AC Milan are also back at the table. The Serie A giants have rekindled their interest and the Blues man is reported to have said 'yes' and awaiting the 'green light'.
However, it is not as straight forward with Milan keeping their interest hot but also looking at other options. Calciomercato state that has allowed the Hoops to take 'pole position' in the chase.
