Man Utd are in talks to sign Diego León next year as they look to strengthen their options at full-back.

Diego León says he is aware of Manchester United’s transfer interest but insists he is fully focused on playing in the Copa Liberatdores with current club Cerro Porteño.

It is understood United are currently in talks with Paraguayan side Cerro Porteño for the 17-year-old left-back, who is viewed as one of the brightest talents in South America. León turns 18 in April so would not be allowed to complete any move to Old Trafford until next summer at the earliest, though an agreement could still be reached before then.

“I have a huge expectation to play the Libertadores 2025,” he reiterated when asked about the transfer rumours by Deportes Uno. “I’ve seen about Manchester United’s enquiry about me, but I don’t know anything. Everything is handled by my agent.”

León has made 19 senior appearances for Cerro Porteño ever since he was promoted from the club's academy earlier in the calendar year.
