Wrexham are looking to strengthen their forward line in the upcoming January transfer window.
The Red Dragons are currently joint-first in League One, only behind Wycombe Wanderers via goal difference.
Wrexham beat Crewe 1-0 in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday evening as well and are now just three wins away from booking their spot at Wembley.
Despite their continued success though, their centre-forwards have largely underperformed in 2024/25.
Paul Mullin missed another big chance against Crewe in midweek, and he is sitting on just one League One goal from 17 appearances this campaign.
The club’s striking problems are highlighted by the fact Jack Marriott remains their top scorer with five, even though he hasn’t played since early October.
Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds are going to address this issue in the upcoming transfer window, however.
We revealed recently that Wrexham want to sign Ethan Wheatley from Manchester United on loan for the second half of 2024/25.

Wrexham owners Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds sent Ethan Wheatley transfer warning
It is understood that Wheatley is one of a number of names on the club’s list as they aim to lure a new number nine to the Racecourse Ground.
However, TWI also learned that Wrexham’s League One promotion rivals, Stockport County, are interested in the teenager as well.
Now, speaking to Football League World, former player turned pundit, Carlton Palmer, has warned that Stockport may have an edge in the race for Wheatley’s signature for one key reason.
He said: “Wrexham and Stockport are believed to be going head-to-head in a bid to sign Man United’s younger centre-forward Ethan Wheatley in the January transfer window.
“Wrexham currently sit second in the League One table on 40 points and they are going for another promotion.
“Stockport currently sit fifth on 33 points, seven points behind Wrexham and Wycombe Wanderers.
“It’s going to be interesting, Stockport might have an edge in signing Wheatley because he’s from the area, but given that Wrexham are seven points clear of them, he might look to go to Wrexham.”

Who could Wrexham sign instead of Manchester United gem Ethan Wheatley
If Wrexham do end up missing out on Wheatley, they will still need to sign another centre-forward in January.
Will Lankshear could be an option for the Red Dragons after Ange Postecoglou confirmed Tottenham Hotspur want to sign another striker.
Parkinson and co. made a move for the Spurs youngster in the summer. He stayed in North London but has failed to garner a lot of meaningful minutes so far this term and will likely see even less game time if the Lilywhites sign another forward.
Wrexham could sign Andre Gray from Plymouth Argyle as well, as his contract is due to expire at the end of December.
