The NFL world seemed to stop for a moment when it was announced that Bill Belichick would no longer be the head coach of the New England Patriots.
Belichick and Tom Brady were viewed as one of the top player-coach duos in league history, and he cemented his legacy within the organization.
However, it became clear to him, and perhaps the team, that the best course of action for both sides was to go their separate ways and move forward.
After he left New England, many fans and analysts believed he would quickly pick up another coaching job, but that didn’t end up being the case.
Despite interviewing a few places with his strong resume, Belichick wasn’t hired, and as a result, has spent most of this season appearing on various media outlets and podcasts, giving fans a closer look into his life and his coaching career.
While Belichick has gotten a lot of praise for the work he’s done this year, his true passion is coaching, and he seems to want to get back into it.
Rumors have circulated about him being interested in the head coaching job at UNC, which would be a step down, at least in terms of the quality of play, from the NFL.
In a recent segment of “GoJo and Golic,” Mike Golic pointed out that the UNC job might be the only option at this point, as he believes that Belichick seems to realize that he’s not going to get another gig in the NFL.

Whether that’s true or not remains to be seen, but it will be interesting to learn more about this situation with more developments.
