Report: How Manchester United decision could be about to affect Crystal Palace, Steve Parish…

Steve Parish will be completely sick of Manchester United and Ineos with yet more news at Old Trafford possibly being of direct impact upon the Eagles.

Since Manchester United’s footballing operations were taken over by Ineos in February, they have been a constant thorn in Steve Parish’s side.

Several of Crystal Palace’s very best players have been linked with a move to Manchester, including links to Michael Olise and also Tyrick Mitchell has been linked with United.

Along with this, United also signed Samuel Lusale from the academy.

Off the field, prior to hiring Dan Ashworth for his five-month stint, United were keen on appointing Dougie Freedman.

Manchester United could return for Dougie Freedman

Parish likely thought his battle to fend off interest in Freedman was done, with Newcastle appointing Paul Mitchell and United Ashworth.

However, this week has seen Ashworth brutally axed by Ineos which is now reportedly set to impact Crystal Palace.

This comes according to the Daily Mail, who have suggested United could actually return in their interest for Freedman.

It is explained that while a replacement for Ashworth is not imminent, the club are not ruling out adding another name to the sporting structure.

In this event, United may reignite interest in Freedman who was a strong candidate earlier this year. Freedman’s knowledge of the British market and signing homegrown players is something that make him an attractive option for the Red Devils.

Steve Parish will be annoyed at Crystal Palace

If this interest does materialise into something tangible, then we can imagine it will be a frustrating thing for Parish to deal with.

This considering how annoyed he was at Newcastle in the summer for their attempted swoop on Freedman.

So if Ineos were to try and poach Freedman they would be met with stiff resistance and likely a battle far tougher than they faced wrestling Ashworth from Newcastle.

Additionally, surely Freedman will have seen the treatment of Ashworth and thinks himself better at a club where he is respected – rather than a club which is still in turmoil behind the scenes.
