Glen Johnson believes Trent Alexander-Arnold will snub interest from Real Madrid and commit his future to Liverpool - but only if the Reds can win the Premier League this season.
As it stands, Alexander-Arnold - like team-mates Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk - is set to leave the club at the end of the season when his contract expires, though the Reds are in talks with all three players about the possibility of extending their stays at Anfield.
But Alexander-Arnold, who joined the Reds' ranks at the age of six, has been heavily linked with a move to the reigning Spanish and European champions, Real Madrid, who are in need of a long-term replacement for Dani Carvajal. Former Liverpool and England defender Johnson, though, believes the Reds could influence Alexander-Arnold's desire to stay at Anfield by winning the Premier League this season.

Speaking to Betfred, Johnson said: “If Liverpool win the Premier League, then I believe he will stay. I don’t think he wants to leave and I don’t think Liverpool want him to leave, but the longer this goes on, then the less likely that he will stay.
"He’s going to be at Liverpool or Real Madrid next season. I don’t believe he’ll go anywhere else and I don’t believe any other club can compete with them two. If Liverpool win the league, then I think he’ll stay.”
