‘My favourite player’: Thierry Henry says Arsenal have a player he prefers to Martin Odegaard

Arsenal have so many talented players on their books right now.

Martin Odegaard is a world-class player, while William Saliba is arguably the world’s best defender.

Odegaard and Saliba are undoubtedly two of the best players in the Premier League, but speaking to the BBC, Thierry Henry has now admitted that another Arsenal player takes the title as his favourite.

Indeed, the Arsenal legend says that Bukayo Saka is indeed his favourite player right now.

Henry has recently praised Kai Havertz as a player, but he maintains that Saka is his favourite footballer right now.

Bukayo Saka is Thierry Henry’s favourite player

Henry spoke incredibly highly of Saka.

The Gunners legend says that he has a real soft spot for Saka as a player and he’s been incredibly impressed by how he has improved in recent times.

“I have a soft spot for him. He’s my favourite player. He’s been there for a long time too. I never thought he was going to reach the level that we’re saying he’s just a starter for England and a starter for Arsenal. I remember when he started at the beginning he was playing wing back, the evolution of his game is just outstanding. He used to be lively, then difficult to defend against, then assists, then goals, then goals and assists,” Henry said.

What Bukayo Saka has said about Thierry Henry

Henry says that he loves Saka, and this is a relationship that runs deeper than just admiration on the pitch.

Indeed, Saka and Henry are quite close, and Saka says Henry always gives him good advice.

“Thierry checks up on my a lot, it’s nice! He’s Thierry, so it’s a pleasure. He’s given me advice on and off the pitch and it’s really helping me so I appreciate it Titi, thank you,” Saka said last year.

Whatever advice Henry is giving Saka, it’s clearly working.

Indeed, Saka has been lauded for his performances this season, and his stats in the Premier League this year are incredible.

Bukayo Saka stats this season

Games 14

Goals 5

Assists 10

Saka is threatening to break Henry’s assist record in the Premier League, and while Henry will surely want his record to remain untouched, he probably won’t mind too much if Saka is the one to break it and write his name into the history books.
