Arsenal handed boost as duo who missed Tuesday training spotted with squad for Monaco game

Jurrien Timber and Thomas Partey have been spotted with the Arsenal squad ahead of their Champions League game against AS Monaco tonight, according to former Sky Sports producer Connor Humm.

Humm, who regularly breaks news on Arsenal and is followed on X (formerly Twitter) by the likes of Dharmesh Sheth, Ryan Taylor and Fabrizio Romano shared the update this afternoon.

Timber and Partey were both absent from Tuesday’s open training session at London Colney, and while there has been no official update as to why, many suggested they might have suffered injuries.

However, it appears that is not the case and they could feature against the Ligue 1 club at Emirates Stadium.

Riccardo Calafiori, Gabriel Magalhaes and Oleksandr Zinchenko also missed the training session while Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu are out injured.

Kieran Tierney could now get a chance tonight given the injury crisis at the North London club, and having both Timber and Partey available will be a huge boost.

The Gunners are looking to finish in the top eight at the end of the league phase of the new Champions League format, and a win tonight will boost their chances of securing an automatic spot in the round of 16.

They have won three, drawn one and lost one of their opening five games of the league phase of the elite European competition and are currently tenth in the table.

Arsenal will fancy their chances of victory against a Monaco side with two defeats in their last three games, and picking up wins in their last two games against Dinamo Zagreb and Girona should not be difficult.

They have what it takes to challenge for the Champions League this term, but they will need plenty of luck on the injury front going forward as being without key players against some of the bigwigs will deal a huge blow on their chances.
