December 15th marks the first day numerous NBA players who signed a contract over the offseason are eligible for trades. This day is usually a bigger deal for some teams than others. Even if the team is not planning on making any sort of major move at the time, having these players now eligible for trades gives them flexibility. This is no different for the Indiana Pacers.
The Pacers, who are off to a 10-15 start, are not confirmed to be in any trade talks, but many speculate this could change in an attempt to turn things around ahead of this season's trade deadline.
Due to the Pacers' quiet offseason, the team only has three players who are eligible to be traded on the 15th.
The 3 Pacers who are eligible to be traded on December 15th
-----------------------------------------------------------
### Pascal Siakam
[After trading for him](https://8points9seconds.com/early-data-further-confirms-the-indiana-pacers-were-right-to-make-pascal-siakam-toronto-raptors-trade) from the Toronto Raptors last season, the Pacers signed Pascal Siakam to a new four-year, $188.9 million contract. While it is unlikely to happen anytime soon, the Pacers are eligible to trade the one-time NBA champion on the 15th.
In what has been a disastrous start of the season for the Pacers, Siakam has been one of the team's few consistent bright spots. On the season, the 30-year-old is averaging 19.7 points per game while shooting 52.5% from the field and 41.1% from beyond the arc. Additionally, he is averaging 6.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game.
Given how important he is to the team's success, the Pacers are unlikely to trade Siakam at any point this season.
### James Wiseman
The Pacers signed big man James Wiseman last offseason to a two-year, $4.8 million contract, including a $2.5 million team option for the 2025-26 NBA season. While [he displayed some promise](https://8points9seconds.com/posts/why-indiana-pacers-fans-should-be-excited-about-james-wiseman-this-season) in preseason, Wiseman suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in his debut with the team. Even though he is injured, the Pacers are still able to trade Wiseman if they decide to.
Wiseman will most likely hit unrestricted free agency next summer. There is still a chance the Pacers bring him back, especially given Myles Turner's contract situation as well. However, they could also decide to move him if there is another team in the league willing to acquire him in spite of his injury.
### James Johnson
The Pacers re-signed veteran James Johnson to a one-year, $2.1 million minimum contract over the offseason. So far, the 37-year-old has only appeared in three games, logging a total of 10 minutes on the season. This was expected, however, as Johnson was brought back more so for his locker room presence and veteran leadership. Trading him is technically an option for the Pacers, but it seems unlikely.
