Cuba and Hungary ratify interest in broadening ties

HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 10 (ACN) Cuba and Hungary ratified today their willingness to develop their relations in the parliamentary field.

As reported by the National Assembly of People's Power (ANPP) on X, Homero Acosta Alvarez, secretary of the ANPP, and György Such, director general of the National Assembly of Hungary, held a virtual exchange on Tuesday to discuss issues of common interest.

During the meeting, both parties followed up on the implementation of the cooperation agreement signed between both legislative bodies.

On the same social network, Acosta Alvarez described the meeting as fruitful and explained that they evaluated experiences for the digital transformation of the different processes in the Assembly.

Last October, Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, Cuban foreign minister, held talks with János Latorcai, vice president of the Hungarian Parliament, an exchange that strengthened the political-diplomatic dialogue and the signing of three bilateral agreements on issues related to science and innovation, culture and education.

The establishment of diplomatic relations between Hungary and Cuba took place on September 15, 1960 in Havana, when a Hungarian delegation traveled to Cuba for negotiations.

On December 18 of the same year, the act of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which had been established in Havana, was signed in Hungary.
