Eddie Howe will take his place in the Celtic dugout - FOUR YEARS after turning down the top job, according to a report.
The Newcastle boss knocked back the Hoops in May 2021 with Ange Postecoglou taking over instead. Appointing the 59-year-old turned into a masterstroke for the Hoops with the now Tottenham gaffer leaving for his gig in North London as a fans' favourite after winning five trophies out of six including a Treble and bringing his 'Angeball' attacking brand of football to Glasgow's east end.
Brendan Rodgers is now in his second stint with the champions and while they have plenty to play for this season both domestically and in the Champions League, the Daily Mail report one eye has been cast as far as next summer with the Toon Army set to arrive in Glasgow on July 19th for a pre-season friendly. The same publication state that they are also thinking over offers to jet out to Ireland and Portugal for training camps with the clash with the EPL outfit likely to be one of the final warm-up games in their schedule.
Howe recently appeared on a podcast alongside outspoken Simon Jordan and set the record straight over what happened with the Celtic job. He shot down an accusation he had 'bottled' taking on the top job when the offer to replace Neil Lennon arrived.
