Manchester United will want to shake off the stench of two consecutive losses when they travel to face Plzen in the Europa League.
It is in Europe where Ruben Amorim’s first win as Man Utd manager arrived so he will want to keep the good habits going, especially with the Manchester Derby next up in the league.
United will travel to Czechia to face the team currently 2nd in their league and they’ll be relishing the prospect of hosting such a marquee game.
Ahead of the travel, Amorim took team training at Carrington and there were multiple things to note from the open footage, some of which will please the Portuguese-

Multiple injury returns
After Leny Yoro made his debut against Arsenal and followed it up with his debut start vs Nottingham Forest, there were only four more absentees in the Man Utd squad.
Of those, Luke Shaw’s injury is a long-term issue but the three apart from the left-back were all back in training ahead of the Plzen game.
This includes Toby Collyer, whose breakout was halted due to his issue, along with Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans to fortify the numbers in defence.
Collyer is a bonus body to use in midfield and the return of the pair in defence will help Amorim rotate better since most of his defenders are recently returning from injury.
MORE UNITED STORIES
There’s no guarantee that any of these three will travel for the league game but it bodes well for the Manchester Derby on the weekend since Amorim has already received a boost for the derby.
Tyrell Malacia- Life of the group
Man Utd fans can only learn so much about the team from a 15-minute clip of a training session that the club puts out precisely to control the narrative.
However, there were some noticeable things even in that, the primary one being how lively and involved Tyrell Malacia was with the group.
Malacia has done well on his return from the long-term injury and the energy he brings to the training group to keep their morale up can’t be understated.
He could be seen playing around with Bruno Fernandes and the South American contingent during passing drills, being carried in the air by Lisandro Martinez and Antony at one point! [Malacia moment near the 13-minute mark in the video below].
At a time when results haven’t been the best, Amorim can use all the help he can get to keep the players happy and smiling. Malacia looks like he’s crucial to that end.
Andreas Georgson is fading into the background
Ruben Amorim’s comments regarding his team’s set-piece fragility after the Arsenal defeat spelt bad news for set-piece coach Andreas Georgson.
That is because he said Carlos Fernandes, Amorim’s long-term assistant, is handling the set-pieces which leaves Georgson’s role in an uncertain place.
During the training footage, Adelio Candido and Fernandes looked the most involved, while goalkeeping coach Jorge Vital put Bayindir and Onana through the paces.
Georgson was seen fleetingly in the background having conversations with players but his role looked minimal compared to the other staff, who looked actively involved in the drills.
The Swede survived the initial overhaul that accompanied Amorim’s arrival but it looks like his future at Old Trafford is uncertain at best.
