Manchester United have confirmed their full 25-man training squad for the upcoming Europa League clash against Viktoria Plzeň
Rúben Amorim will be determined to guide his team back to winning ways as they gear up for an away encounter against Czech side FC Viktoria Plzeň in the Europa League on Thursday night.
The 2,300-kilometre round trip offers Manchester United an opportunity to rediscover their attacking rhythm following consecutive defeats to Arsenal and Nottingham Forest.
Currently sitting 12th in the standings with nine points, United are just one point behind Rangers, who occupy 8th place—the last spot that guarantees progression to the next stage.
With matches against Plzeň, Rangers, and Romanian club Fotbal Club FCSB still to play, United may need to secure victories in all three to clinch a top-eight finish and keep their Europa League campaign alive.
Ahead of the game, the media were invited to attend the opening minutes of Amorim’s training session on Wednesday afternoon before his press conference.
It was quickly noted that Victor Lindelöf and Jonny Evans were back in action. Both players have been unavailable in recent weeks.
Young midfielder Toby Collyer was also involved but it is still a week until he will be fully fit and considered for selection.
Otherwise, Luke Shaw was the only notable absence as he battles through yet another injury setback. Tyrell Malacia, Leny Yoro and Harry Maguire were all involved as they creep closer to full fitness.
Barring Collyer, there were no fresh Academy stars involved following the Under-19s fixture on Tuesday evening.
The likes of Harry Amass, Ethan Wheatley and Godwill Kukonki were all involved in the 0-0 draw against AZ Alkmaar which led to the young Reds exiting the UEFA Youth League.
Players like Casemiro, Joshua Zirkzee and Mason Mount will be hoping for starts on Thursday and were all involved in training on Wednesday afternoon.
The matchday squad will likely be revealed soon, with the Reds set to jet off to Czechia on Wednesday afternoon.
