On Tuesday, we covered claims from Germany which stated West Ham United are one of the clubs monitoring 1. FC Nürnberg’s Stefanos Tzimas.
This week’s edition of SportBild have a report on the striker and West Ham are the only interested party mentioned.
The 18-year-old joined the second division German club from PAOK on a loan deal with an option to buy in the summer window.
Tzimas has scored seven goals and registered three two assists from 12 league games for Nürnberg and his performances haven’t gone unnoticed.
The German club can make the Greece U21 international’s stay permanent by exercising the €18m purchase option. It’s claimed they want to take up this option and sell him for a higher price to make profit.
This wouldn’t be a problem for Nürnberg because of West Ham’s interest. The report sates Julen Lopetegui’s side are ‘really hot’ for the player who has a goal of making it to the Premier League.
Nürnberg are laying the groundwork for the frontman’s sale and with the Hammers keen, they can fulfil Tzimas’s wish. Whether that’ll be in January or next summer isn’t made clear in the report.
