Chelsea’s Cole Palmer and Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka are two of the outstanding attackers in the Premier League, but which one is the better player right now?
First up, Cole Palmer is a sensational talent who’s taken the Premier League by storm since joining Chelsea from Manchester City in the summer of 2023.
The 22-year-old attacker is such a key figure in the Blues XI, whether that’s as a right-winger or in his more favoured central No.10 position. In 62 Chelsea appearances across all competitions since he joined, he’s scored 36 goals and created 21 assists.
Based on current form, Enzo Maresca thinks Chelsea’s Palmer may be the best player in England.
Meanwhile, Bukayo Saka, 23, has been starring as Arsenal’s right-winger for several years now. In fact, he’s scored 65 goals and made 61 assists in the Gunners first team during 245 games since his promotion from the academy.

Gary Lineker picks between Cole Palmer or Bukayo Saka
During a segment on The Rest Is Football, Gary Lineker was asked who would he pick if he had to choose one out of Palmer or Saka to play for his team.
Lineker responded: “I love both of those. I think they’re probably my two favourites English players that play in the Premier League at the present time… I might just go Palmer because I think he can play in more positions. That’s the only reason.”
With how Palmer and Saka are playing for their respective clubs this season, it should be pretty easy for England to fit both into the same XI. The Chelsea man is pulling strings from a central position, while the Arsenal star is such a dangerous option as an out-and-out winger.
