Cam Ward is likely going to be one of the first 10 picks of the 2025 NFL Draft. Infamous Miami football booster Nevin Shapiro claims to know where the Hurricanes’ quarterback will end up, alongside his offensive coordinator.
The controversial 55-year-old wants everybody to remember what he said in December when it happens in April. We’ll see…
Shapiro, a convicted felon, received a 20-year prison sentence for one count of securities fraud and one count of money laundering valued at approximately $900 million. Meanwhile, he allegedly violated the NCAA rulebook by providing assorted favors, goods, cash and prostitutes to the Miami football team during an eight-year run as one of the school’s most prominent boosters. Widely considered one of the wildest recruiting stories of all-time, a large amount of the illicit funds supposedly funneled directly from the initial Ponzi scheme. The scandal was a major point of discussion in ESPN’s 30 for 30 about The U.
That is Nevin Shapiro in a (very brief) nutshell. With that out of the way, lets look at what he said on The Adam Jones Podcast.
Cam Ward to the Giants?
Ward is one of the four finalists invited to the Heisman Trophy ceremony on Saturday. The fifth-year senior competed 67.1% of his passes for 4,123 yards and 36 touchdowns with 196 yards and four touchdowns on the ground during his lone year at Miami.
As things currently stand, Ward is expected to be drafted in the top 15 of the first round of the NFL Draft. The Raiders, Giants and Browns are considered to be the three teams most likely to take a quarterback. Las Vegas and New York are probably going to draft a quarterback inside the top five.
It also seems like Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward are the two names.
According to Shapiro, the latter is a lock to play in the Big Apple. He says the Giants are going to draft Ward with their first round pick. He also thinks Miami offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson is going to leave the Hurricanes for the same role in the NFL. They are a package deal.
Nevin Shapiro is who he is. Take his word as truth or take his word with a grain of salt. That’s up to you.
The infamous Miami booster is confident the New York Giants will draft Cam Ward in April.
