Complete list of injured Real Madrid players and their expected dates of return

Real Madrid’s season has been injury-riddled with a constant balance being maintained between players fit and those battling on the sidelines.

Some names have been ruled out for the long term with season-ending injuries while others have faced relatively mild blows and will be available to the manager in the near future.

With a hectic period ahead, Carlo Ancelotti will require as many fit players as possible and Madrid Universal brings you an overview of all the players currently injured and their prognosis.

Kylian Mbappe

Vinicius Jr’s return against Atalanta brought excitement to fans, but it was short-lived as Kylian Mbappe left the field with an injury.

Taken off the field early in the game immediately after scoring, the club has offered no intimation over the extent of his injury or the duration of his spell on the sidelines since his medical test will only be conducted on Thursday.

He is, however, expected to miss the weekend’s game against Rayo Vallecano.

David Alaba

Alaba’s return is much needed in the Spanish capital to help improve the depth of the centre-back position, and luckily for the manager, it is not far off.

The player is now in the final stretch of his recovery and could well play for Real Madrid early next year. While his integration into the dynamics will indeed be slow and cautious, he is expected to feature in some capacity in January.

Eder Militao

Militao’s injury this season broke hearts across the globe for it was painful to see the same player suffer another ACL blow just months after recovering from his previous setback.

His injury rules him out of action for the entire season and the opening phase of the next campaign as well with a return only predicted around August 2025.

Eduardo Camavinga

The French protege suffered a setback in Los Blancos’ clash against Liverpool at Anfield and was said to be ruled out for two to three weeks.

Now in the final stage of his recovery, Camavinga is expected to return to action for Real Madrid in the coming days and should be available in time for the Intercontinental Cup final. Needless to say, his return will be a massive boost for the manager.

Ferland Mendy

Real Madrid have been surprisingly silent about the injury to Ferland Mendy and the manager has slowly instated Fran Garcia as an able replacement.

Having faced a muscle injury against Girona, the player is not expected to feature again this year with a recovery only slated for the beginning of 2025, possibly in January.

Dani Carvajal

The Spanish veteran’s unexpected season-ending injury was the beginning of Real Madrid’s collapse on a fitness front and came as the first massive blow of the season.

Having suffered a serious injury to his knee including the cruciate ligament, he is expected to miss the entire season and will likely only return to the field in August next year.
