Arsenal reject bid from Napoli ahead of January transfer window

The star for whom Napoli sent bid is the Polish defender Jakub Kiwior. As per TuttoSport, the Italian club submitted an offer worth £12.5 million for Kiwior. But, Gunners have turned down the offer straight away.

There may be two reasons behind this decision taken by Arsenal. First is they consider the Polish star a key player in their squad. Second reason is they would feel that this is far too low price for someone like Kiwior who has already proven his worth on highest stage.

Should Gunners keep Kiwior at North London?

Jakub Kiwior has been heavily linked with an exit in the recent days. He is said to move away in January itself and it is due to the lack of game time under Arteta. Kiwior has not been able to earn spot as regular starter.

This season, the Polish defender has played 12 games but has started only 4 of them. His 2 starts in Premier League came only after Gabriel Magalhaes got injured. Despite playing very good in those 2 games, he is very likely to get replaced once Gabriel is fit.

This may suggest that it is better for Kiwior to move away from Arsenal. But, Gunners will also have a huge say about his future. As of now, they want to keep him as they prefer to have good squad depth. Gunners have already been harmed with lack of depth when Saliba got injured in the 2022/23 season.
