FRISCO - Dallas Cowboys quarterback Cooper Rush's wife, Lauryn Rush, is speaking out after receiving a horrific social media message after the team's "Monday Night Football'' home loss to the Cincinnati Bengals this week.
Rush, playing in place of usual starter Dak Prescott, who is injured and out for the year, was of course in the spotlight in the 27-20 defeat that essentially crushes any of Dallas' faint playoff hopes.
And apparently one fan's reaction to the performance was to send a disgusting hate message directed at the quarterback to Rush's wife.
Lauryn Rush exposed the hateful fan by posting a screenshot of their message on Instagram ... a note that is no NSFW we have chosen to not link to is, except to say that it concludes with the "fan'' expressing that he "prays (Rush) dies on the field.''
Wrote Lauryn in exposing the note: "I truly try not to look at messages like this but like what's really sad about this is the fact that he thinks he can say this to someone. How warped are you? Jail," she wrote.
Lauryn, obviously and understandably upset, later created a subsequent post in which she went on to call out the hater for threatening her family.
"Unless you have been in the league, don't threaten me, my family or my husband. And actually, if you've been in the league still don't threaten him," read a part of the message. "Spread love not hate. Go watch the tape.''

In this game, Rush - considered a solid veteran journeyman backup - finished Monday's loss by completing 16-of-31 passes for 183 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. The 31-year-old has been filling in for the injured Dak Prescott, who has missed the last five games after suffering a season-ending hamstring injury.
Rush, 31, has spent the bulk of his eight NFL seasons with the Cowboys and has started five consecutive games since Prescott went down. Cooper and Lauryn have been married since 2020 and have two young daughters together.
