Inter Miami have been linked with Neymar for some months now, with David Beckham seemingly keen on reuniting the Brazilian with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.
The former FC Barcelona trio are often regarded as one of the best-attacking tridents in the history of soccer, with a possible reunion on the cards with Inter Miami interested in signing Neymar in the January transfer window.
With Angel Di Maria also a target for Inter Miami, it’s clear that the Herons have plenty of options in mind when it comes to signing a superstar attacker next month, though Neymar would, of course, be the one that most fans would love to see at Chase Stadium.
But Inter Miami’s plans to sign Neymar could be about to be thwarted due to Al-Hilal.

Al-Hilal could release Kalidou Koulibaly instead of Neymar next month
According to TyC Sports, Neymar could be set to stay at Al-Hilal, with former Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly the foreign player most likely to be released as the Saudi Arabia club look to meet squad requirements on non-Saudi Arabian players.
Al-Hilal had reportedly earlier in the year agreed to release Neymar, with the winger spending the majority of his time in the Middle East out on the treatment table having picked up an ACL injury that ruled the forward out for most of 2024.
However, Neymar now looks set to remain at Al-Hilal, who could meet Inter Miami at next year’s FIFA Club World Cup in the United States if both sides make it out of their respective group stages.
Indeed, Neymar joining Inter Miami would have been a dream transfer for many supporters next month, yet this latest update could all-but end the Herons’ chances of bringing the Brazilian superstar to Florida to reunite with Messi and Suarez.

Who else could Inter Miami sign after Neymar blow?
Inter Miami missing out on Neymar goes against what many supporters believed was going to happen in January, with the transfer almost too perfect as MSN reuniting looked like a real possibility in 2025.
Yet with Neymar now seemingly off the table, Inter Miami could turn their attention to other big-name targets, with the Herons seemingly set to make one or even two blockbuster signings next month.
As well as Di Maria, Paulo Dybala has been linked with a move to Inter Miami, with Mohamed Salah also rumored as a target for the Herons, two forwards who would be nothing short of exceptional for Javier Mascherano’s side in 2025.
