Manchester United confirm 24-man travelling squad for Plzen Europa League clash

Manchester United continue on the quest to secure progression to the next Europa League round on Thursday against Viktoria Plzen in the Czech Republic.

It was an atrocious start to the Europa League this season, as Erik ten Hag failed to win any of his three games in charge, throwing away points in all three.

Since the Dutchman’s exit, Manchester United have enjoyed back-to-back wins, first under Ruud van Nistelrooy against PAOK, and secondly with Ruben Amorim leading United to a win over Bodo/Glimt in his first European game in charge.

12th Man United 5 9

United currently sit 12th in the Europa League, league phase table. This position is good enough to secure progression, but Amorim will want to get into the top eight in order to go directly to the last 16.

With three games left against Plzen then Rangers and finally FCSB, Amorim will be confident United can pick up the points needed to progress.

Now, the club has announced the travelling squad for the trip to the Czech Republic.

What we learned from Ruben Amorim’s first away European squad

So this is the very first travelling squad Amorim has had to name and he has brought 24 players with him to the Czech Republic.

This is the entire senior squad which is at full strength barring the ever-absent Luke Shaw and Jonny Evans who only returned to training on Wednesday.

Interesting inclusions are Toby Collyer and Victor Lindelof who have also both recently returned to training – with Collyer yet to make an impression on Amorim.

Collyer will be hoping to get some minutes and send the head coach a clear message that he deserves to be playing over the next few weeks.
