Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has known to embrace a good conspiracy theory. So it felt right on Tuesday, early during his weekly paid appearance on ESPN’s “The Pat McAfee Show” that Rodgers brought up the ongoing, mysterious drone situation in the skies over New Jersey.
“Do you know what’s been going on in New Jersey lately?” Rodgers said. “And I’m not talking about the football. There’s been some crazy things going on. ”
Of course, the Jets and Giants have won a combined five of 26 games this year. But Rodgers, who was downtrodden in talking about Sunday’s brutal loss to the Dolphins which eliminated the Jets from playoff contention, clearly enjoyed this topic of conversation much more.
“There’s some drones in the sky,” Rodgers said.
McAfee’s producers then put footage of an unidentified aircraft flying over Bedminster.
“Here we go,” Rodgers said. “Look at this, cued up. What the hell is that?”
“It’s an airplane,” Rodgers former teammate, AJ Hawk said.
“It’s a helicopter,” McAfee said.
“That’s large_,"_ Rodgers said. “What is that? ... I’ve seen that video. Bedminster, that’s home to \[predident elect Donald\] Trump’s golf course and our owner, Woody Johnson. So who knows, maybe those guys are ...”
McAfee speculated again that it could just be footage of a helicopter.
“Is that a helicopter,” Rodgers said. “Is that what that is? ... There’s other videos that I’ve seen and I’v talked to some friends of mine, a police officer -- shout out, Mario -- there’s some interesting things going on. Interesting things going on with the drones.
“Maybe it’s just some kids messing around ... maybe not, though.”
Rodgers also speculated it could be Trump trying to get down to Florida quickly for a round of golf, or wealthy rich people messing with people from a bunker. And Rodgers, who claims to have seen a UFO in the area years ago, didn’t rule out aliens.
“I’m thinking about having a Friday night 5-E experience,” Rodgers said. If you don’t know what that is, don’t worry, he explained.
“It’s where you have a big kind of meditation circle and then you call in the aliens and you use little green lasers to bring them in,” Rodgers said. “So thinking Friday night, if it’s a nice night, clear night, having a little 5-E experience to bring ‘em in.”
