Young goalkeeper back on Merseyside
After joining the club from FC Wroclaw in 2020, Mrozek penned his first professional deal in 2021 and featured for the U21s side in the next few years that followed. Last season, he was selected by Jurgen Klopp in four different first-team matchday squads.
During the summer, he penned a new contract with Liverpool and he was sent on loan to Swedish club Brommapojkarna for a half-season loan. The 21-year-old has subsequently returned to Liverpool on the back of his spell.
In the Allsvenskan, Mrozek was initially selected for five matchday lineups- conceding 12 times - and was on the bench thereafter.
A statement from BP Fotbol has since been released, which says: "Fabian Mrozek's loan from Liverpool FC to BP extended to the 2024 season. Once the season and joint training have finished, the loan ends and Mrozek returns to Liverpool.
"We thank Fabian for his time with us and wish him the best of luck in his career, says sporting director Philip Berglund."
Mrozek future uncertain
While his upcoming schedule is likely to result in a further spell with the Liverpool U21s at the Academy, fans may get to see Mrozek in first-team squads moving forwards, as he attempts to compete with Vitezslav Jaros to be Liverpool's No3 goalkeeper.
We will have to wait and see what the future holds for the former Polish international at youth level, as Liverpool's goalkeeping department is set for sweeping changes over the next 12 months.
Giorgi Mamardashvili is set to join the club from Valencia, after signing on earlier this summer and subsequently being loaned back.
In addition, the situation regarding Alisson Becker and Coaimhin Kelleher will need to be resolved as to who becomes Liverpool's No1 in net for next season.
