Earlier today, the President of the Hellenic Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, accompanied by Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece, visited the Nursery School “Annunciation of the Theotokos” and the Center for Gerontology and Welfare Support “Saint Porphyrios,” both operated by the Holy Archdiocese of Athens in Dilesi, Boeotia.
During her visit to the nursery school, the President listened to Christmas carols sung by the children and presented them with gifts. She then toured the Gerontology Center, where she interacted warmly with the residents and exchanged greetings.
Expressing her sentiments, President Sakellaropoulou stated, “It is with great joy and emotion that I visited the nursery and the Gerontology Center today. These facilities, established and maintained under the initiative of Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece, stand as a testament to exceptional organization and care, both in terms of infrastructure and day-to-day operation. Young children exude energy and innocence, while our elderly citizens are cared for in a highly professional and supportive environment staffed by dedicated specialists. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to everyone involved in providing the essential care and support for these two groups.”
Reflecting on her experience, the President added, “Witnessing the remarkable work accomplished in these facilities, I can truly say this visit felt like a Christmas gift to me. I would like to express my deep gratitude to the Archbishop of Athens for his inspiring initiative, which serves as a beacon of hope and strength for our society.”
