Blow for Arsenal and Man United in‘active talks’with their target

Man United are in active talks with a 17 year old player who was already on the radar of Arsenal. The Red Devils are very likely to agree a deal next year. They are already discussing tranfer fee for the South American talent.

Gunners have shown in recent years that they want to have a very good squad depth. They have made moves to sign young players to be ready for future. Mikel Arteta has been able to build a really good squad with the help of Arsenal board.

On the other hand, United have also done the same but most of their deals have failed to live as per the expectations. The Red Devils will enter the transition period after signing a new manager recently. Many changes in the squad are expected next year.

Man United in active talks with Arsenal target

Gunners were linked with 17 year old Paraguayan player Diego Leon. Leon plays for Cerro Porteno as a left back and has caught attention of the top clubs. But, now Arsenal are set to miss the chance of signing him as Red Devils are said to be in active talks with Cerro Porteno.

Fabrizio Romano has tweeted on his Official X Account that United are in active talks and are keen to sign Leon just like they signed Sekou Kone last summer. In addition, the Italian journalist also said that the Red Devils are discussing a fee of around €4 million.

Romano is right with his reports almost every time so a big disappointment is loading for Gunners. As for United, it will be a good signing as they have lacked a proper backup for left back position.

Leon will be tempted to move to Premier League and develop himself in the setup of club like United. But, he will have to wait until the end of season to move to England as he is not 18 years old yet.

Live Updates

United have labelled three stars namely – Kobbie Mainoo, Amad Diallo and Alejandro Garnacho as unsellable. It was very likely expected as all are very young and already an important part of squad. On the other hand, Arsenal have rejected bid from Napoli who tried to sign Jakub Kiwior.
