Man City, Barcelona and PSG are all attempting to hijack Real Madrid’s deal for Trent Alexander-Arnold.

That is according to RM Confidencial, who report that Madrid need to be careful and complete their free transfer signing of the Liverpool right back.

It is widely expected that Alexander-Arnold will join Madrid on a Bosman Transfer at the end of the season when his Liverpool contract expires.

But the report claims that City, Barcelona and PSG are all making late moves for the Englishman before the opening of the January transfer window when he will be able to officially sign a pre-contract with his next club.

City and Barca are both looking to sign new right backs for next season. Kyle Walker is now getting old at City, while Jules Kounde is a converted centre back who continues to play in an unnatural role at Barca. PSG, meanwhile, are not entirely happy with Achraf Hakimi.

Alexander-Arnold is almost certain to leave Liverpool when his contract expires in 2025.

Contract talks have not been going well and it is widely reported in Spain that a free transfer to Real Madrid is already agreed.

Real Madrid have reportedly offered Trent Alexander-Arnold a contract worth a staggering €90 million.

The Liverpool right back is said to have been offered a five year contract with a salary of €17-18m per season. That will be worth an incredible €90m over the course of his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid have been long-term admirers of Alexander-Arnold and see the right back as the long-term successor to the ageing and injured Dani Carvajal.

Alexander-Arnold at Liverpool

Alexander-Arnold was born in Liverpool and grew up in the club’s youth academy from the age of six.

He made his senior debut for Liverpool at the age of 18 in 2016 and went on to become a key player in Jurgen Klopp’s successful era at the club.

Famed for his brilliant right-foot, vision and long cross-field passes, Alexander Arnold has made over 300 appearances for Liverpool.

He has won seven trophies with Liverpool, including the 2019 Champions League and 2020 Premier League.

He has been capped 33 times by England but under previous manager Gareth Southgate never had the same trust from his country as he has had at his club.
