EFL club fans left stunned by just how good Leicester loanee is – they want to sign him…

Leicester City allowed a number of players to depart in the summer as Steve Cooper deemed many of them surplus to requirements.

Leicester saw Kelechi Iheanacho, Dennis Praet and Kiernan Dewsbury leave the club on permanent transfers.

Iheanacho and Praet left on frees whilst Dewsbury-Hall commanded a £30m fee from Chelsea, where he has hardly played so far this season.

Cooper also sent a number of first-teamers out on loan, with Ben Nelson, Harry Souttar, Tom Cannon, Wanya Marcal, Silko Thomas, Sammy Braybrooke and Amani Richards among the players who departed.

And now, one of them is really making a number for himself at an EFL club, so much so, that the fans are desperate to sign him on a permanent deal.

Stoke City fans stunned by how good Leicester loanee Tom Cannon is

Leicester allowed Tom Cannon to join Championship outfit Stoke City on a season-long loan in the summer.

Cannon has quickly established himself as Stoke’s star player and was once again on the scoresheet last night, netting his eighth league goal of the season against Luton Town.

Stoke fans took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to heap praise on the young striker, with many urging the club to sign him on a permanent deal.

@nathscfc said: “Cannon’s one of them players when he’s through on goal you feel more confident than not that he’s going score which deffo isn’t the case with most strikers we’ve had over the years, sign him up!”

“Have to break the bank for him in January, best Finisher we’ve had since relegation by a country mile,” @nathphilk added.

@ADE__SCFC posted: “We NEED to make sure we sign Cannon on a permanent. Give him whatever he wants.”

@DevonScfc said: “GIVE HIM SERVICE AND HE SCORESSSSS (what a ball).”

“PAY. THE. MONEY,” @willhollandd wrote.

@LukeJFurnival simply said: “Sign him in Jan.”

Leicester have a recall option on Cannon

According to BBC Sport, Leicester do have a recall clause in Cannon’s contract.

Leicester fans have been calling for the club to bring him back to King Power Stadium in January and if he continues this rate of scoring, it almost feels inevitable.

Odsonne Edouard, who Cooper signed as Cannon’s replacement, has hardly kicked a ball this term and could return to his parent club Crystal Palace.

So Ruud van Nistelrooy could opt to recall Cannon, allowing him to allocate more funds towards a winger, centre-back and right-back.
