‘Incredible’ Chelsea player absent from training ahead of Conference League match vs Astana

Chelsea will no doubt ring the changes again for their upcoming Conference League match against Astana tomorrow night.

The Blues will be forced to play in freezing temperatures after a long-haul flight, all whilst trying to remain in a race for the Premier League title in a busy Christmas period.

For this reason, it is expected that there will be a youthful look to the Chelsea side who lineup in Kazakhstan tomorrow night.

The Blues could hand as many as eight first team debuts in the Conference League tomorrow night, and some could come at the expense of some players who have starred in that competition up to now.

Mudryk absent from Chelsea training

One player who certainly fits into that category is Mykhailo Mudryk. He is one of the best performing players in that European competition up to now.

Mudryk has been unavailable as of late due to illness, with him absent from Premier League squads for a number of fixtures.

It seems as if he has not been able to shake off that issue as of yet. Nizaar Kinsella reported that the Ukraine international was not present in the final training session before making the trip to the other side of Europe.

Maresca has already confirmed Josh Acheampong will start the game tomorrow night in Kazakhstan, after being absent from any sort of Chelsea duties for a while now.

It has been reported that talks are approaching the final stages between the two parties of agreeing to a new contract, which had been the reason as to why things had broken down between them.

The likes of Shumaira Mhueka could make their debuts for the club, as well as Kiano Dyer, who was reported to be in line for minutes in this competition before it got underway this season.
