PITTSBURGH --Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Donte Jackson avoided serious injury after suffering a back injury against the Cleveland Browns. Jackson had spotty availability during the game, and while he suffered a back injury, he was also dealing with an illness coming into the game that made it hard for him to play.
However, that should not be too much of an issue, according to head coach Mike Tomlin. Jackson will be limited early in the week leading up to the team’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles, but he should play. That is a boost to a team that is dealing with more than a few injuries.
Safety DeShon Elliott is battling hamstring tightness, so the Steelers' secondary is banged-up. They will face an Eagles passing game that has not been explosive this season, but has plenty of talent with players such as DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown. The players have been outspoken in improving the passing game, so the Steelers could expect some new wrinkles to be thrown their way in the passing game.
