Heat Veteran Believes He Should Be An All-Star This Season

The Miami Heat are usually known as the team run by Jimmy Butler or Bam Adebayo, but Tyler Herro has been playing consistently great basketball for a while now.

He knows he’s doing well, and he believes he deserves more respect and a spot on an All-Star team.

Speaking with the Miami Herald, via NBACentral, Herro said:

“I would love to be an All-Star. That’s been my goal since I came into the league. We’ll see. I got to get votes. I’m definitely worthy, though.”

This season, Herro is posting 24.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game on 47.7 percent from the field and 42.2 percent from the three-point line.

Tyler Herro is averaging 24.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.0 assists on 63.2% true shooting and believes he deserves to be an All-Star this season:

The last few seasons have been transitional ones for Herro.

He used to be one of the most celebrated sixth men in the league but has slowly but surely become a starting player for the Heat.

He has started in all 22 games of the season so far and is playing more minutes than ever before.

Herro is leading the team in points, which is a very noteworthy accomplishment considering the company he’s playing with.

And even though he is arguably having his best season ever, it’s not clear if he is going to be an All-Star this year.

As Herro said, he needs the votes, and, unfortunately, they might not be there.

There is so much competition in the league for the All-Star Game that Herro may get overlooked no matter how well he is playing.

But there are other things that Herro should be considering.

Depending on how things go between the Heat and Jimmy Butler, Herro could have more responsibilities on his plate.

He may not become an All-Star, but he might be more of a team leader in the months ahead.
