Whether at Stamford Bridge or on the road, the support of the Chelsea faithful never goes unnoticed by players and staff. And this week, hundreds of Blues supporters are embarking on the longest European away day in the club's history as we take on Astana in Kazakhstan.
Hundreds of Chelsea fans have been jumping aboard flights – either direct or via connections – to Kazakhstan over recent days. And upon their arrival, supporters have to contend with numbing temperatures lower than -10°C.
That commitment to following the Blues over land and sea is not lost on centre-back Disasi. ‘We appreciate it because it is a long flight and the temperature is crazy,' the Frenchman said.
'Again, they show the love they have for us, and as a player it is always a pleasure to feel this \[love\]. So as a player, we will try our best to say thank you.’
It has been a constant theme this season: when the final whistle goes, regardless of the result, Chelsea's players and staff walk over to our fans and thank them for their continued support.
There have been occasions where Maresca's media commitments have stopped him from doing so but he insists on the players heading over to our supporters and the Italian's appreciation of our fans is unwavering.
Ahead of the Conference League clash with Astana, Maresca said: ‘We always appreciate the fans and the people who come with us and with this game, even more so because of the temperature and the journey. We always appreciate them and this game probably even more.’
