‘Dream come true’: Manchester City transfer target admits he can’t wait to play against Manchester United

Manchester United’s attention turns back to Europa League action on Thursday night as Ruben Amorim takes his side to face Plzen.

The Premier League hasn’t exactly been kind to Manchester United over the last week.

United lost 2-0 at Arsenal before falling to a 3-2 home defeat at the hands of Nottingham Forest on Saturday evening.

Ruben Amorim will be looking for a big response as United turn the attention back to Europa League action on Thursday.

United travel to take on Czech side Plzen after claiming just two wins in the first five games of this Europa League campaign.

United drew the first three games of this new league phase and will be looking for a victory on Thursday night.

Plzen star on facing Manchester United

Plzen have the same record as United – two wins and three draws from five games.

After draws with Eintracht Frankfurt, Ludogorets and PAOK, Plzen have secured wins over Real Sociedad and Dynamo Kyiv.

MORE UNITED STORIES

There are some impressive results in there and United cannot afford to take Plzen lightly.

Amorim has named a strong United squad for the trip but Plzen will be desperate to cause an upset.

Plzen striker Matej Vydra is a familiar face whilst teenager Jiri Panos is considered a ‘generational talent’.

Star midfielder Pavel Sulc has now told plzen.cz that even playing against United is a ‘dream come true’ for him.

Sulc noted that he has wanted to play against United since he was a child and is relishing this rare opportunity to shine against Amorim’s side.

The Czech international wants to test himself against the best and Thursday’s game provides that opportunity for him.

“You don’t play against Manchester United every year. It’s a huge challenge and a chance to compare yourself with a team of such quality. At the same time, it’s a dream come true that I had as a little boy,” said Sulc.

Pavel Sulc a wanted man

Sulc is a man United have to keep close tabs on during Thursday’s game.

The 23-year-old has become a goalscoring force from midfielder for Plzen having come up through the club’s youth ranks.

Sulc has racked up 10 goals and six assists in 27 games this season, including two goals in the Europa League league phase.

22 goals from midfield last season sums up the talent Sulc possesses and Amorim must be wary of his goalscoring qualities from midfield.

Premier League clubs are already watching Sulc with TBR Football noting interest from Aston Villa, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur earlier this season.

Sulc is being viewed as a potential difference maker in the Premier League and United will now get a chance to see him up close.

An impressive display could see United join that list of admirers and having admitted that facing United is his dream, he will be desperate to impress and potentially earn himself a move to England.
