'Mentally': Alisson shares what he's noticed about Mohamed Salah's behaviour during Liverpool contract talks

Mohamed Salah’s Liverpool contract has dominated the airwaves in recent weeks, with the Reds still trying to reach an agreement with the winger.

The Egyptian international’s current deal with the Anfield side is due to expire at the end of this season, with rival clubs free to talk to Salah next month when his contract ticks over into the final six months.

With Liverpool making progress in awarding Salah a new two-year contract, the Premier League leaders are in a race against time to secure the 32-year-old attacker’s future, who this season has been nothing short of exceptional.

And Alisson Becker has now shared what he’s noticed about Salah’s behaviour amid ongoing contract talks.

Salah ‘very calm’ as Liverpool future remains in the balance

Speaking to ESPN, the Brazilian international revealed that Salah remains ‘very calm’ behind the scenes at Liverpool despite the winger’s future yet to be decided with the Anfield giants heading into 2025.

With PSG publically addressing their stance on signing Salah, interest in the former AS Roma superstar is only going to increase the longer Liverpool keep putting off accepting the Egyptian international’s terms for a new deal.

What else has been said about Salah’s Liverpool future?

Liverpool would not be where they are at this stage in the season without Salah’s performances, and other players in the squad seem to know this, with Alisson far from the only player to declare he wants the winger to stay.

Alexis Mac Allister recently revealed this week that he is eager to see Salah remain with the Reds beyond this season, with the 32-year-old arguably the best player in Europe having already hit double digits in goals and assist in all competitions.

Indeed, Salah is too good for Liverpool to be losing for free at the end of this season, and a new deal realistically has to be signed and sealed before the end of 2024, where clubs will be eyeing swoops for the forward in January.
