Saints DT Bryan Bresee named NFC special teams player of the week

On Wednesday, the NFL named New Orleans Saints defensive tackle Bryan Bresee the NFC special teams player of the week. This comes after he blocked the New York Giants' last-minute field goal in the Saints visit to MetLife Stadium.

The second-year man out of Clemson was humble when asked about the play postgame.

“Shep and Payton did a great job pushing down the long snapper and guard; my job is to get up and get down,” Bresee said. “Didn’t really work how I wanted it to—kind of buckled on my landing—but I got a piece of it, just enough, I guess. It was a lot more guys doing their job than just me.”

All of this was also in front of his family. Bresee stated that many people were able to come and support him, including his cousins from New Jersey.

“I've got a group of 20 here right now, so there's a lot of people,” Bresee said.

The defensive tackle also had one sack along with two pass breakups in the game, which is a career high.
