Rúben Amorim reveals six‘unsellable’Manchester United stars as£170m trio‘may be sold’

Rúben Amorim has reportedly singled out six Manchester United stars he considers ‘unsellable’ as three stars worth around £170 million may be sold.

Manchester United’s 2025 transfer plans are starting to take shape as Rúben Amorim becomes more familiar with his squad at Old Trafford.

The 39-year-old manager has taken charge of five games so far, with his first victory coming in the Europa League against Bodo/Glimt—a match that also marked his introduction to the home crowd at Old Trafford.

While United secured an emphatic 4-0 win over Everton, they suffered defeats to Arsenal and Nottingham Forest and were held to a draw by Ipswich Town in their four Premier League matches under Amorim.

Discussions around the club’s 2025 transfer activity are already underway, with an understanding that some high-profile players may need to be sold to generate funds for new signings.

Six unsellable players

According to Sky Germany, Amorim has singled out six players who he believes are ‘unsellable’ at United following his opening month at the club.

The report states that, alongside two or three others, André Onana, Noussair Mazraoui, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Kobbie Mainoo, and Amad Diallo are six players that Amorim wants to keep at the club long term.

Further, it’s revealed that the club agree over half of the players in the current squad are “serious candidates” for sales in the winter or summer months if good offers come in.

Amorim is thought to be keen to be allowed to make significant changes to the side he has inherited, although United do not want to completely rip up the squad that currently sits at Carrington.

£170m trio may leave Old Trafford

This comes following news that three big-name United players may depart in the coming windows.

Marcus Rashford is reportedly up for sale in 2025 as the club are concerned that his lifestyle off the pitch is affecting his performances. It has been previously claimed that United value him at around £80 million.

Diogo Dalot is a second who has been linked with a move away. Although their first choice option is Trent Alexander-Arnold, Real Madrid have been credited with interest, with some claiming that Los Blancos feel an offer of around £45 million could tempt United.

Finally, Lisandro Martínez is also reportedly gathering interest from the La Liga giants as they monitor the player’s situation at United, who signed him for around £45 million in 2022.
