Carlos Soler joined West Ham on a season-long loan deal from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.
Despite a slow start to the season and a lack of starts in Julen Lopetegui’s side, the 27-year-old has seen his game time increase recently after his assist in the Hammers’ loss against Arsenal.
With more first-team starts now, it seems as though the midfielder has his manager convinced of his ability at the London Stadium.
The Hammers hold an option over the loanee meaning they can make the deal permanent at the end of the season if they wish to do so.
However, speaking to AS, the player remained tight-lipped on his long-term future as he admitted: “I want to continue gaining confidence, playing games and minutes, which is what I like and makes me happy.

“Living in a city like London is also magnificent. Imagine Paris, Valencia I won’t even tell you about. But I am very happy here, to be honest.
“In the end, I come here on loan for a year to take advantage of the opportunity. Playing in the Premier League, which also sounds like a cliché but it’s true, is something that I wanted as a child and I’m enjoying it. I’m really enjoying it. Beyond that, I can’t tell you anything else.”
Carlos Soler to West Ham permanently?
Although Soler hasn’t had the most impactful of starts at the London Stadium, it has not been the easiest environment to thrive in a struggling side but it seems as though he has impressed his manager and is getting increased game time as a result.
It also sounds as though the 27-year-old is enjoying playing in claret and blue and therefore, he will be keen to put in a high level of performance and keep impressing the staff and supporters at the London Stadium.
There is still plenty of the season to go so if the midfielder was able to make a real impact on the side, the club could well be ready to take up their option and secure his services permanently next term.

That being said, with continued speculation surrounding the future of Lopetegui at the club currently, this will no doubt leave the outcome of such decisions quite uncertain as if a new manager came in, they could have a different style or different preferences.
For now, all the Spaniard can do is continue to enjoy his time on the pitch and put in performances of a high level to make sure that whoever is in charge at the end of the season, sees him as an essential part of the team.
