The Portland Trail Blazers are still a work in progress.
Chauncey Billups’ team is quite young, so there will be some bumps along the way.
However, Scoot Henderson still likes their chances.
In a recent sitdown with Mike Scotto of HoopsHype, the former No. 3 pick claimed it won’t be long before the Blazers become one of the best teams in the league (via Legion Hoops).
Scoot Henderson on the Blazers:
“I think we’ll pan out to be one of the top teams in the league pretty soon.”

They hope so, but it might take more than just a few years.
On paper, they have a plethora of talent at their disposal.
Shaedon Sharpe, Anfernee Simons, and Henderson could all be explosive scorers, but they have yet to prove they can either be efficient or stay healthy.
Deandre Ayton is no longer a prospect, and there have been major concerns about his demeanor, but they drafted a potential defensive anchor in Donovan Clingan.
They just need to flip some of their veterans and gather more assets, and they need to assess whether Billups is who they need to lead their new era and develop their young talents.
It takes a lot to succeed in this league, especially in the Western Conference.
The Blazers don’t seem to have a clear pecking order or a well-defined franchise player.
Henderson was supposed to be that player, but he continues to come off the bench and be almost the same player he was in his rookie season, so this team’s redemption will most likely start with him or not at all.
