Arteta makes big Arsenal transfer statement, Gunners free to sign Prem star, Boss hopes Arsenal target makes big move

Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews that we think you guys could have missed today…

ARSENAL boss Mikel Arteta has hit back at reports the Gunners are planning on selling Gabriel Jesus in the January transfer window.

Jesus has been at Arsenal a good few seasons now and has been a player that Mikel Arteta loves to play on a regular basis, when he is fit, but this season he has fallen behind Kai Havertz in the pecking order.

There has also been alot of speculation in the media that Arsenal will look to sign a new striker in the coming windows, meaning that Jesus may fall further down the pecking order, and as a result, the Brazilian has been tipped with a move away from the Emirates..

However, despite all the rumours, Arteta has hit back at reports the Gunners are planning on selling Gabriel Jesus in the January transfer window – Addressing the rumours, Arteta told reporters: “No, no sense. Like all strikers, they go on phases and moments and that gap is becoming big.

‘It’s true that obviously a lot of things has happened, injuries, absences of not playing or starting games that much. But his attitude has been really good, it always is, and we’re going to try to help him overcome the situation as soon as possible.”

Jesus is wanted by Arteta and the Brazilian wants to stay – so it would be no surprise to still see him as gooner next season – but at the end of the days guys, why would the club wants to keep on giving him massive wages when he spends most of the season injured?

He will never be a 20-goals a season striker and that is what the club need in the coming transfer windows

Arteta is loyal to his players and that is great, but as we just said, Jesus spends most of the season injured.

RASHFORD BOOST

Marcus Rashford’s time at Manchester United could be nearing its end as the Red Devils welcome offers for the ‘distracted’ forward, which will alert the likes of ARSENAL and Chelsea to a potential deal for the England star.

Rashford has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons again this season and looks nothing like the player that netted 30 goals for United just a few seasons ago.

He really struggled last season under boss Erik Ten Hag and has only managed to score 8 goals in all competitions for United, which is not good enough for a player of his ability and quality when he is on top of his game.

Now, According to the Telegraph, United started welcoming bids for the 27-year-old last summer following a drastic loss of form, and are ready to let him leave the club when the January window opens up next month.

ARSENAL were heavily linked with a move for Rashford in the summer window, but opted to not make a move for the winger as he would have cost far too much money.

A few seasons ago Rashford had the world at his feet, he was well on his way to becoming one of the very best footballers in the world, but that has all changed now and he looks like a player that is not interested in football.

If the reports are true and Man United are willing to let the star leave the club, then maybe it is the best thing for him as he needs a change, it is not working at Old Trafford.

There will be many fans that will be sad to see him go, but as we said, he looks nothing like the player that could bang in 30 goals.

MOURINHO MAKES NICO WILLIAMS CLAIM

Former Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho ‘hopes’ his former club Real Madrid win the race to sign ARSENAL target Nico Williams in the coming transfer windows.

Nico Williams is one of the most exciting wingers in the game right now and a player that most of the big clubs around Europe are very much interested in signing when he makes the decision to leave Athletic Bilbao.

Williams was linked with a move to Barcelona, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United in the summer window, but after helping Spain to another trophy, he made the decision to stay where he is for at least another season.

However – there is alot of transfer speculation that a move could be made the the upcoming transfer window, and Mourinho ‘hopes’ his former club Real Madrid win the race to sign Nico Williams

‘Nico is wonderful,’ Mourinho said at his pre-match press conference as Fenerbahce prepare to face Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League on Wednesday night.

‘At the last Euros, everyone was talking about Yamal, Yamal, Yamal… who is obviously another fantastic young player.

‘But personally, I prefer Nico; he is a fantastic footballer. One cannot think that a Turkish club could sign him; I hope he ends up at Real Madrid.’

There are not too many players in the game that will have their choices of clubs to join, Williams is one of those stars. If he wants to join a club, he will join them.

He is a quality winger that will bring goals and excitement to any club, so even though we would love to see him in the Premier League over the next few seasons, it is much more likely that he stays in La Lia.
