Chelsea’s players have been relatively protected when it comes to criticism for what is happening on the pitch this season.
This has been solely their own doing though. The Blues currently sit second in the Premier League after an immense start to life under Enzo Maresca.
The manager has had the tough task of giving all of his quality players the minutes they desire, and has used the Conference League for the fringe players to make their case.
However, there have been some individuals who have been deemed to important to be rotated in the majority of occasions.

One of those is Nicolas Jackson, who sits on a very impressive eight goals in the Premier League so far this season.
Last season saw plenty of criticism come the way of the Senegal international, although he kept the faith of Mauricio Pochettino throughout the campaign.
Jackson has actually claimed that he thrives off criticism in the media and beyond, saying it helps him perform at his best.
He said to Amazon Prime: “I want to hear people say bad things about me, criticise me on the pitch, it’s nice, it helps you, I love this you know”

Jackson causing Christopher Nkunku frustration
Jackson’s regular place in the side has come at the expense of Christopher Nkunku, who is actually the top scorer for the club in all competitions this season.
Nkunku is reportedly frustrated with his minutes at the club at the moment, and did find the net when he was given just his second league start of the season against Southampton.
Jackson was visibly frustrated at his own performance after he was subbed off against Tottenham in their last game, and this could be the opportunity that Nkunku has been waiting for to get his chance at more minutes in the top flight for Chelsea.
