Liverpool are off to a slow start under Richard Hughes as the club's sporting director.
Hughes completed just two deals in the summer transfer window. However, the Reds are set to accelerate their moves in the market next year.

Both the January and the summer window are expected to be a busy period for Hughes and the rest of his recruitment team at Anfield.
It won't just be first team signings that the club will be looking to recruit either. Hughes has been tasked with bringing in under the radar gems in order to acquire the stars of the future.
And to accomplish that purpose, Liverpool are on a mission to sign one player who has been likened to Lionel Messi.
Liverpool accelerating moves to sign Andrija Maksimovic
That player is Andrija Maksimovic, a 17 year old Serbian sensation who has been likened to Lionel Messi back in his homeland.
Anfield Watch revealed exclusively that Liverpool are keeping a close eye on Maksimovic and he is someone who the Reds could look to sign in the January transfer window.
According to our sources, the plans would be for Maksimovic to be loaned out before linking up with Liverpool in the summer, when Arne Slot would run the rule on the young talent in pre-season before deciding his fate.

Now Liverpool's interest has been confirmed even further with Mozzart Sport in Serbia reporting that Liverpool scout Paul Goldrick has reserved a seat for himself at the San Siro in order to watch Maksimovic in action in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
According to the report, Goldrick will assess Maksimovic closely before reporting to the club's leadership about whether he thinks the Reds should pursue a deal for the youngster in the upcoming winter window.
Red Star Belgrade take on AC Milan and having already faced Barcelona and Inter Milan so far this season this will be another golden opportunity for Maksimovic to make his mark.
As the report claims, there are plenty of other suitors for the exciting young prospect. However, it's clear Liverpool are accelerating their efforts to sign him.
His fate could hinge a lot on what happens at the San Siro.
