'The best': Morgan Rogers and Moussa Diaby impressed by Aston Villa star after win v RB Leipzig

Aston Villa fans now have a lot to smile about.

The winless rut is over, Unai Emery has guided the team to three wins on the bounce and they can now start to look forward.

On Tuesday night, Villa recorded a 3-2 win over RB Leipzig in the Champions League and boosted their chances of reaching the knockout stages automatically.

A top-eight finish means you qualify without having to play a two-legged play-off to reach the round of 16, whilst a top-four finish means you have an extra advantage with the seeding when the knockout games come about.

As of this moment, and the Wednesday night Champions League matches are yet to be concluded, but Aston Villa are sitting third in the table on 13 points and looking seriously strong.

One of the reasons why Villa’s fortunes are changing is the return of midfielder Boubacar Kamara, who has now played back-to-back 90 minutes for the first time since his season-ending injury in February.

Youri Tielemans was named Man of the Match against Leipzig, but if anyone was a close second then it was Kamara.

The France international wrote on Instagram ‘UCL nights’, with his teammates lauding and applauding him in the comments section.

Kamara’s stats for Aston Villa against RB Leipzig

Kamara’s engine is getting warmer and warmer. It’s also starting to show in his performances, with WhoScored rating his performance at 7.35.

Only three Villa players were rated higher, including opening goalscorer John McGinn, the ever-improving Rogers and Villa’s super-sub, Jhon Duran.

Another all-round showing from Kamara and he deserves the plaudits coming his way.
