Earlier this season, head coach Matt LaFleur confirmed that Musgrave underwent surgery to the ankle that landed him on the injured reserve. The tight end had tried to play through the pain initially but the coaches and medical staff determined the injury was too severe and had to shut him down.
Through the first four weeks of the season, multiple tight end formations accounted for 12.5 percent of the total snaps. We'll see if that kind of participation returns when Musgrave gets back on the field. As to when that could be, the team has 21 days from today to either activate Musgrave to the 53 man roster or place him back on injured reserve which would end his season.
