This season, the best wide receiver in the NFL from a production standpoint has been none other than Cincinnati Bengals standout Ja'Marr Chase.
Week in and week out, Chase continues to torment defenses, and while the Bengals may not be a contender at 5-8, Chase has already racked up several historic moments and is even on track to win the Triple Crown at wide receiver.
He added to his impressive season on "Monday Night Football" against the Dallas Cowboys, sealing the game with a 40-yard touchdown that helped lead the Bengals to a 27-20 victory.
With that staggering performance, it was announced on Wednesday by the NFL that Chase has been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week-an honor he has more than deserved several times this season.
Ja'Marr Chase ended the night with an impressive 14 receptions for 191 total yards (177 receiving) and two touchdowns. His connection with Joe Burrow has been as strong as ever, and his numbers continue to reflect that synergy.
This season, Chase leads the NFL in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns, and he's not particularly close in a couple of those categories. He has tallied 93 receptions, 1,319 receiving yards, 15 touchdowns, and is averaging 14.2 yards per reception.
In the offseason, Chase was seeking a long-term deal with the Bengals, but the two sides couldn't reach an agreement. The former LSU standout chose to bet on himself by playing without the deal, and now he's expected to earn even more than what he initially asked for.
It's widely expected that the Bengals and Chase will come to terms on a contract this spring or summer, making him the highest-paid wide receiver in the league.
