Barca are offering two of their superstars in exchange of one Chelsea superstar. The Chelsea star is question is very highly rated and has been in superb form recently.
The star in question here is Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernandez. The Blues brought the 23 year old in January 2023 for €120 million. Fernandez is very highly rated by Chelsea and the Argentine has became a key player for Enzo Maresca.
Earlier Fernandez was having a tough time under Maresca and was replaced by Romeo Lavia. But now, the Argentine has been able to get back in his top form. He has 9 goal involvements in his last 6 games across all competitions.
One thing is sure that the Blues will not part ways with Fernandez unless a top offer is being tabled by any of the interested party. Real Madrid have been heavily linked with the move but their arch rivals Barcelona have also shown interest in the 23 year old recently.
Barca offer two stars to Chelsea in exchange of Enzo Fernandez
According to Fichajes, Barca are planning to send 2 players in the opposite direction to sign Fernandez. The Spanish giants will struggle to pay the demanded price by Chelsea and hence are hoping for a potential swap deal.
Barca are offering Frenkie De Jong and Ferran Torres in exchange of Fernandez. Both of these stars have not been able to impact the game for the Spanish side this season. As of now, it is very unlikely that the Blues will agree to this deal.
As of now, it seems like everyone at Chelsea is very happy with Enzo Fernandez. Maresca wanted to transform Fernandez into difference maker – one who scores and assists regularly. It seems like the Italian has done his job as the Argentine player already has 10 goal contributions this season.
Out of those 10 goal contributions, 9 have came in the last 6 games. Just some days before those 6 games, Maresca said publicly that he wants to give Fernandez a new role. The Italian wanted to transform him like he transformed Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall last season.
Live Updates
Barca are still having a lot of financial problems. In addition, the strict La Liga rules have prevented them to register their summer signing Dani Olmo for the second half of the season. It seems like they will not make any signings this summer and a deal for Nico Williams is already off the tables.
