close

Chelsea have been dealt a blow as Joao Felix will reportedly not be available for their upcoming clash against FC Astana in the UEFA Conference League. The match is slated for December 12 at Almaty Central Stadium.

OneFootball reported that the Blues squad trained at their Cobham Training Ground on Wednesday morning and then boarded the flight to Kazakhstan to play against Astana on Thursday. Joao Felix was reportedly not spotted during either training or boarding.

Simon Johnson of The Athletic has reported that Joao Felix has picked up a knock due to which he could not make the trip. The exact issue faced by the Portuguese star is yet to be known.

Felix has started three out of all four Conference League games for Chelsea so far this season and has registered four goals. The Blues are currently undefeated in the competition and on top of the table with 12 points.

Following his one-season loan tenure at Barcelona from Atlético Madrid, Joao Felix signed a seven-year contract with Chelsea in August. This marks his second stint at Stamford Bridge. Back in January 2023, he joined the Blues on loan from the LaLiga club for the remainder of the 2022–23 campaign.

Joao Felix has recorded five goals and two assists in 15 appearances across competitions for the Blues so far this season.

Chelsea reportedly joins race with Arsenal and PSG to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers' Matheus Cunha

Chelsea are reportedly set to race Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Matheus Cunha in the upcoming summer transfer window. The 25-year-old's current contract at the Molineux runs until the summer of 2027.

Wolves are currently 19th in the Premier League table with nine points in 15 matches. Even though the club's performance has been underwhelming this season, Cunha has been impressive, netting seven goals and providing three assists while featuring in all the league matches so far.

Chelsea, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are keen on acquiring Matheus Cunha's signature as per Fichajes.net (via The Hard Tackle). The Brazilian is reportedly valued at €70 million by Wolverhampton Wanderers.

It remains to be seen if the Wolves decide to part ways with Matheus Cunha amidst a tricky relegation battle.
